South Africa's Employment increased in the Quarter ended March, data released by Statistics South Africa showed Tuesday.

The number of persons employed in the country's non-agricultural sector
grew 0.6 percent to around 8.30 million in the three months ended March from the December quarter. Year-on-year, Employment advanced 2.6 percent during the period.

Meanwhile, the gross earnings paid to employees decreased 5.9 percent in the three-month period from the Quarter ended December. Compared to the same period last year, gross earnings rose 9.2 percent in the March quarter.
