Hungary's Trade Surplus Rises In March

Hungary's Trade Surplus increased for the second straight month in March, final data from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office showed Thursday.

The Surplus improved to EUR 839.7 million in March from EUR 831 million in February. The preliminary report estimated the March balance at EUR 831 million.
In March, exports increased 18.4 percent year-on-year, slightly above
the preliminary estimate of 18 percent. During the month, imports
advanced 16.1 percent compared to the earlier estimate of a 15.8 percent
rise.

This followed a 27.2 percent growth in shipments and 20.4 percent rise in imports during February.

During the first quarter, the Trade Surplus
advanced by EUR 614 million from a year earlier to EUR 2.07 billion.
Exports value climbed 23.5 percent compared to the same period last
year, while imports rose 21.7 percent.
