This textbook of orthopedics is intended to be an outline of evidence
based general information in the subject for medical students, trainee
surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists; however, it can also be useful for
family medicine practitioners or rheumatologist. In the first 21
chapters basic knowledge of orthopedics will be discussed e.g. fracture
healing of bones; examination of orthopedic patients; conservative and
operative treatment; physiotherapy; dysplasias and developmental
anomalies of the bones; neuromuscular and rheumatic diseases; tumors and
tumor like conditions of bones etc. The following 9 chapters deal with
regional orthopedics from the neck and shoulder region to the leg, ankle
and foot. More than 100 drawings, 200 patient photographs, radiographs
and other imaging pictures help to illustrate the characteristic
features of orthopedic diseases
