Although one may think from the title that this should be an operating manual for surgical trainees, a quick look inside this 434 page book confirms that it is actually a guide to key aspects of surgical patient management. Furthermore, it is surprisingly easy to read and chock full
of important and useful facts. Each chapter has a number of key points which are boxed and is followed by a summary, self test questions and references including suggestions for further reading.   -- UNIVADIS 20100201  " 4 stars ... a valued addition to the subject ... well researched ... excellent bibliographies throughout ... concise and up to date ... a well-written text suited for all peri-MRCS trainees and I highly recommend it."   -- Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons 20100901  a very useful handbook-sized guide to the breadth of surgery-in-general ... well-structured throughout, with good use of
tables, illustrations and summaries -- Association of Surgeons in Training Yearbook 2009-2010 20100901
